Apple’s terms

The app is distributed through the Apple App Store. In addition to these terms, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement applies to your use of the app, unless we provide different license terms. Apple is not responsible for the app or for support for it.

Use of the app

StarLog is a trip and mileage logbook. You are responsible for the accuracy of the entries you keep and for deciding which trips to record, share and export. Automatic detection is an aid and can be wrong, so please review your trips. Do not use StarLog in a way that distracts you from driving safely and observe the traffic rules at all times.

Records and tax or legal requirements

StarLog helps you create detailed, exportable records, including business-receipt PDFs. Requirements for mileage records and expense documents differ by country, authority and situation. StarLog does not provide tax, accounting or legal advice. You remain responsible for meeting the requirements that apply to you.

Plans and subscriptions

You can start StarLog for free. Optional plans unlock higher limits and additional features and are offered as auto-renewing subscriptions through the App Store. The price, the length of the period and the features are shown in the app before you buy.

Payment, renewal, free trials, cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it at any time in the settings of your Apple Account.

iCloud

If you use iCloud sync, your logbook is stored in your private iCloud under Apple’s terms. You are responsible for your Apple Account and for keeping enough iCloud storage available.

Organizations and accounts

The dashboard is intended for organizations. You sign in with Apple or a passkey and must keep your sign-in credentials secure. Organization owners and administrators are responsible for the people they invite, for the roles they assign and for the lawful use of shared data. You decide which of your own trips are shared and can remove a share at any time.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

• misuse the service, try to bypass its security or access data that is not yours;
• use automated means to overload the website or the dashboard;
• use StarLog to record or share other people’s locations without their knowledge and consent;
• upload unlawful content.

Suspension

We may restrict or end access to the dashboard if you seriously or repeatedly violate these terms or if this is necessary to protect the service or other people.

Availability and changes

We work to keep StarLog reliable, but features that depend on iOS, location signals, third-party services or connectivity cannot be guaranteed to work without interruption. We may improve, change or discontinue features. We will update these terms when we do and indicate the date of the latest version.

Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act and where mandatory law requires it. For slight negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations, that is, obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible and on which you may regularly rely, and then limited to the damage that is foreseeable and typical for the contract. Other liability is excluded.

Governing law

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected.
